My All Natural Running Experience

I was born and raised in one of the greenest province in the Philippines, Laguna. As a child, I wasn’t really conscious about the health benefits of running all I know was during weekend and holidays I would beg my mom to let me sleep over at my cousin’s house in Pagsanjan Laguna so we can bond and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I was so excited waking up as early as 5am then we would walk on the ricefield and run on the road side while enjoying the picturesque view of the line of tress that seems to stretch their branches as we approach them while we enjoy the scent of the morning breeze. The smell of the leaves has a certain kick that gives us a natural high.

Nothing beats the scenic view of the sunrise while we are taking a rest on a small monument at the park. We would occasionally stop and look at the clouds and let our imagination run free as we see different shapes and objects like bear, castles and flowers in the sky. Sometimes we would only run with slippers on and go straight to the river to finish the run with a revitalizing bath on a running water.

As years go by, (should I say as I grow old) and since I’m based in Manila already, I still grab every chance I get to jog and enjoy nature when I’m in Laguna. Nothing beats a beautiful scenery while you run. It relaxes you and helps you reflect on the things that are happening in your life.
